New Piece: Playing Dress-up Can Be Exhausting

New painting, part of my conference preparations for NJSCBWI this June! Sort of a fun, modern take on Mary had a little lamb, I guess. Sometimes when you play for hours, you need a nap.

Painting 8×10″, acrylic on board.

Rachel Dougherty is a riproarin' Philadelphia illustrator, hailing from the northern suburbs, now residing a quick jaunt from the Rocky steps. Her stature may be diminutive but her clout is mighty. She graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2010 and hasn't put down a paintbrush since. Her greatest goal in every work she paints is to make her audience point and laugh. She divides her time between drawing people falling down, falling down herself, winning at boggle, and slathering most foods with hot sauce.
