This is the first in a series of Brighton landmark prints. Each landmark is intertwined with another concept. For example the Duke of York being one of the oldest working cinemas in England is surrounded by varying film characters.

Brighton Fringe Festival illustrator 2013

I am proud to have been selected to be this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival illustrator. The Fringe Festival is England’s largest arts festival turning Brighton in to a sea of creativity throughout the month of May every year. Under the art direction of Paul Copeland I have created this years brochure cover design, and inside illustrations. Make sure you’re in Brighton this May so you don’t miss out!

Hello! My name is Carlos Garde-Martin, I create fun, brightly coloured, and well thought out imagery that keeps you looking. Sometimes I draw on paper and sometimes on walls. I also make screen prints from my studio space in central Brighton.

Please contact me if you have any commissions you would like to discuss, or to request a portfolio meeting. No job too big or small.

Some of my clients include The Brighton Fringe Festival, Nixon McInnes, Spindle Magazine, Storm CP, Madame Geisha bar, and Digital Artist magazine. You can also see my work appearing in exhibitions up and down the country.

If you would like to buy some of my artwork you can do so from Frame of Mind, Castor and Pollux, and Hand-made.

I also run workshops for schools and museums, one of the most recent being the Big Draw campaign for Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery. I teach illustration at the Friends Centre in Brighton, and guest lecture at K College.
