Patrick Lugo – 24th Annual Children’s Book Illustrator Exhibition

Patrick Lugo will have original artwork from the award winning children’s book “Little Monk & the Mantis: A Bug, A Boy, and the Birth of a Kung Fu Legend” on display and available for purchase. Along with fellow illustrators, this show will also include student artwork from from Chabot College’s Children’s Book Illustrator Class.

Patrick Lugo completed his formal education at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, studying directly under the legendary Carmine Infantino. His artwork was first published, soon after, in the pages of New York indie publisher Double Edge Comics. He is currently Senior Designer for Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine who published his long running comic series TIGER'S TALE. Over the past decade his illustrations have also appeared on CD and Album covers both for U.S. and European musicians. He also paints for fun as a part of a San Francisco Bay area arts collective and completed his first mural on the island of Puerto Rico. His first Children's Picture Book LITTLE MONK AND THE MANTIS was released in May 2012 and has been awarded both the Book of the Year Honor from the prestigious Gellett Burgess Center for Children's Literature as well as 2012 Preferred Choice Award from CREATIVE CHILD MAGAZINE.
