Kirsty Greenwood’s website of work

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” “An Artist. Or roadie for Guns and Roses.” Heavily influenced by the talent of her Dad for painting and drawing along with her Mum’s for sewing (plus G&R splitting up) it was fated that Kirsty Greenwood would want to spend her life as an Artist (and annoyingly for her parents, not get a ‘real’ job.)

Kirsty constantly takes on new projects and often learns additional skills to help further her talents as an Artist in order to remain inspired, original, creative and productive.

Quixotic painter, illustrator, sculptor and seamstress. I am motivated by ephemeral visual misunderstanding, transient half-light, ocular strangeness, nightmares, dreams and fleeting glimpses of unreality, as well as standard beauty. Inspired by faerie tales, myths and legends, ailuroanthropy, lycanthropy, nature, Alice-syndrome and transformations, childhood memories, ghost stories, naiveté and true romanticism, my idiosyncratic work often has its roots in dreamlike non-realities so I create Art contained by the mind-set of renovating these ‘deliberations’ or ‘visions’ into images which often convey feelings of otherworldly states and my sometimes macabre preoccupations with such! My creativeness is embracing of serendipity. I approach my work with an open mind and enjoy any diversions I encounter, turning them into part of the finished creation or inspiration for further projects. I often combine various projects results using photography and print to produce imageries which I then work on again, using a starting point to create a multitude of works in various materials and media.
