Wallace West – When They Were Young (Baby Oprah)

I obsess over illustrating. I obsess over celebrity. This is the first is an on-going series of my reimagining of pop icons as children.

Wallace West has studied with The School of Visual Arts in New York City and Parsons School of Design in Paris and is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Apart from his extremely lazy beagle-mix, Sammy Joe, his influences span the spectrum from Quentin Blake to Modigliani. A firm believer in lighthearted living, his artwork reflects the humor and honesty that intrinsically prevails in children...this might come from the fact that he continues to play hide and seek and build indoor forts well into his ‘adult’ years.
