Jason Freeny – Hello Kitty

New illustration and print from Jason Freeny.

Everyone’s favorite Japanese character Hello Kitty is exposed.

Jason is a New York City based artist that calls his work ”lowbrow digi-pop”. He enjoys creating yummy mixes of geometry, iconic imagery and twisted themes using 2-D and 3-D computer apps.

  1. I’m pretty sure this is not new. I’ve seen this before. A long time ago.

I challenge Jason Freeny to post this on Zazzle.com for sale. Although this is clearly a work of parody, which is protected by the 1st Amendment, expect Zazzle to send you notification that they have been contacted by the copyright owner and your design has been deleted. Zazzle refuses to defend works of parody or satire. As soon as they are faced with the slightest legal pushback, they fold like a house of cards. They are a bunch of spineless idiots who refuse to stand up for their users.

Matt- I am certainly not the first to explore the anatomical make up of Hello Kitty, nor do I claim to be. Several artists have expressed their interpritation, this is mine.

Tab- you are correct, but they are not wrong in doing so 😉
