Come and play Monstar!

Monstar! Come and play a game of consequences...

Do you remember a childhood game called ‘Consequences’, where you folded some paper and took it in turns to draw a piece of a picture each, before revealing the final image – an awesome monster or some other bizarre creation?

Anyway, we still freakin’ love this game so it seemed only fitting, when looking for collaborative art project for NewSugar magazine, that we dragged this ugly beast out again, albeit with a 21st century make-over.

Basically WE NEED YOU! Over the coming weeks there will be a brand new area on the NewSugar site where you can download templates and view an interactive/randomising version of the project. However, if you would like to get hold of a template now give us a shout at and we will send you one. All the final pieces will make it into a ‘Consequences’ special edition.

We are also hoping to get the final project published once there are enough pieces to create a lovely book.

We already have heaps of people playing… come and join in!

Info: The piece above – ‘No. 1’, for want of a more imaginative title, was done as an example piece to promote the project and was created by Aaron Miller (head), Whyisbox (inner) and Koodoo (body).

The drawing years: 1972 – 1988 Born with a graphite centre – drew logos instead of playing with toys like normal children – bombed out of school and art because Graphic Design – aka Graffiti is NOT an artistic medium (dicks) and went on to practice on the walls of middle England (Apart from the cheeky tag mainly in Leighton Buzzard if I'm honest). The music years: 1988 -1997 Acid – Rave – Drum and Bass - House – Breaks – dropped - DJ'd – promoted – produced - presented. The alcohol years: 1997 – 2000 Ran, drank in and owned bars in London, Salisbury and Aylesbury. If I remember... The drawing years (again) 2000 – present: Back to design full time. Although only started illustrating seriously a couple of years ago. Got Broadband. Spent less than 40% of my time looking at porn and was able to fit in some drawing in the mean time. Worked as senior creative and now freelancing (illustrator) and running own design company (graphic design). 2008 – the future: Got first rocket car – broke first rocket car. Influences: The happy and disturbed.
