LeBasse Projects :: Culver City is proud to announce ‘Soliloquy,’ a solo exhibition from artist Barron Storey.

Known for his cover of “Lord of the Flies”, Barron returns to Los Angeles showcasing his group of large scale off the page work. He has taught artists like Kent William, Jason Shawn Alexander, James Jean, and David Choe. While looking at Storey’s work, one can see the direct influences.

This is the cover image for Carl Trueman’s new book, Fool’s Rush In Where Monkey’s Fear to Tread: Taking Aim at Everyone. I painted it in oil with a lot of medium, then tweaked it in photoshop. The process for the project is on my blog.

Recently I have been experimenting painting portraits, at my Monday night painting group, using irregular shaped washes of acrylic. I love the way the washes keep the painting loose, allowing me to add detail without tightening it up too much.
