At the moment I’m still experimenting with small paper ‘scenes’. For this project I designed the clothes as separate parts that are folded and glued over each other, instead of illustrating it on a single piece of paper. Even the tie is a separate piece. I was curious how much extra depth this would create in a model. I also had some fun making the tiny props like the suitcase and the bag. Anyone that wants to build this model can find the PDF in the ‘free toys’ section on my website.

After doing a lot of single models the last couple of years, I’m now moving into new territory, experimenting with simple papertoy scenes consisting of a character and some props. The end result should be something that feels like a 3D illustration, but made with real-life materials instead of CGI. This model, Easy Listening, is the first attempt, and I’ve got a couple more lined up. You can download the model at my recently restyled website in the ‘free toys’ section.
