In past exhibitions, Matt Haber presented his characters and worlds as a stage-like setting anchored in play acting. With “Luminous World”, Haber is breaking the mold in many new ways. As the title suggests, Haber’s world now is taking center-stage and his delicate painting technique has evolved into a richer more luminous style with an emphasis on atmosphere and mood.

With this new exhibition Doyle continues his Distillation series, which explores an uncanny intersection between destruction and domestic life. Doyle sculpts in a small scale to create model worlds that upend the laws and assumptions of our real one. Reflective of the apprehension endemic to our times, Doyle’s works also communicate a timeless longing for the stability of home, hearth, and family.
