This was originally painted in support for humanitarian aid and relief for Japan’s devastating natural and nuclear disaster. The painting measures approximately 24 x 18 inches and is available for sale by email inquiry. All proceeds will be donated in two ways: to Japan (American Red Cross) and the other half for international humanitarian aid worldwide in such distress.

Something rather modest and small in scale after having worked on my last large paintings. I have had this thought and image stuck in my mind of children with balloons in Pakistan. Something I felt inspired-moved by after seeing some photographs from an editorial of children there.

Something endearing, beautiful, touching, while a bit dark, I felt. The balloons were the only objects that brought life into the dismal landscape and scene.

A long overdue update. Two new paintings added to the website‘s gallery from my recent series of paintings/drawings depicting global events.

Just completed another acrylic painting (a part of my “re-adaptation” series of original digital paintings repainted and revised as canvas pieces) titled “Feels Like Floating Balloons”. [You can view the full painting at my website.]

The cropping had always been how I envisioned the image in my mind, like a photograph taken. As if I was there to watch someone fall and to even wanting to rescue. How beautiful, almost therapeutic I thought. A graceful surrender. An almost rebirth from suffering. Learning to fall, learning to rise and overcome. Regaining yourself and your strength. The running against the wind. Learning how to lose and win. Don’t stop breathing, I would say to them. Breathe.
