It discusses how the “Player” has changed since his stereotypical image, originally cast in 1953 by Hugh Hefner and Ian Fleming. Instead of fast cars and hot blondes its now nanny’s and The Sound of Music.

Watercolour illustrator Daniel Mackie wins Best in Book in the Creative Review Illustration Annual 2011. The winning illustration was commissioned by Natmag-Rodale. Daniel Mackie abandoned photoshop in 2010. After using the software as an illustration tool for over a decade he decided that a change in direction and method was what was required to push his work further.

Don Draper star of madmen is on the surface an American Dream.
The sixties, the decade in which Madmen is set is now a long time ago. It is striking to see how far society has come. Don Draper is a Man of his time. His Character is used beautifully to illustrate the yawning gap between the gloss of the American dream and the shifting sands that is reality.

This illustration was for Pulse today, Doctor Weaving Diary. He visits 10 downing street for a meeting about the way ahead for GP’s. The consortium Doctor Weaving is the lead of has been tasked with pathfinding. He and his team have to implement the decisions of the Government in their locality which is Cumbria.
