Anthony Amore, Chief Investigator and Director of Security at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (and author of “Stealing Rembrandts”), recently welcomed artist/illustrator Travis Simpkins as a new contributor to Stolen Cavalier: a website dedicated to Art Theft awareness. Stolen Cavalier is a dual effort, managed by Art Crime and Security experts: Mr. Amore in the United States and Vicky Oliveri in Australia. On the site, Mr. Amore said of Mr. Simpkins, “Travis Simpkins is a dedicated lover of art. He protects it at the Worcester Art Museum. He creates it in the form of an amazing portfolio of sketches ranging from portraiture to interpretations of important art objects. And he preserves it via a weekly mailing of then-and-now photos of the WAM that accumulated quite a following and garnered him a great deal of publicity. Now Travis joins me and Vicki Oliveri at Stolen Cavalier, contributing writings and images related to art theft. Welcome, Travis!”
