In 2004, illustrator Peter James Field bought an A6 spiral bound sketchbook and began to make daily observational drawings. Though he only planned to pursue the project for a week, he soon finished that first book and quickly bought another. Ten years and many sketchbooks later, the project is still going.
Field has been illustrating professionally throughout this time- counting the New York Times, the BBC, The Guardian and Time magazine amongst his many clients. His personal visual diary project has continued to run alongside this work, offering him a space away from commercial pressures.
Later this year, he plans to publish a selection of this huge archive in a beautifully produced A5 hardback volume – and is inviting backers to support the work on Kickstarter, in return for one of several exciting rewards – including exclusive prints, drawings and the chance to pre-order the book at a discount.
