Illustrator and designer Fumi “Mini” Nakamura is headlining an art show from November 13 to December 10 at Blackbird Attic, 442 Main Street, Beacon NY, a consignment boutique and gallery.
The show, entitled “I Want to be Your Favorite Hello and Your Hardest Goodbye,” will feature a variety of Nakamura’s work, originals and prints framed. An online pre-sale will begin on Friday, November 12th at 7pm…
Since graduating in 2007 from San Jose State University, Japanese native Nakamura has done exhibitions all over the world. Her work was published in Nylon Magazine and she recently designed t-shirts for Gap’s (Product) Red Artist Series, which contributes half of the sale to a global fund to fight AIDS.
The human form, with influences of nature and wildlife, usually inspires Nakamura’s illustrations. She often works with graphite and color pencil, giving her illustrations a dream-like effect in a sea of pastels.
